R.C. EDRINGTON
for Riki outside the rain gray like a memory forgot keys rattle like the bones of dead cops against the door knob inside a Jim Beam bottle she neatly tucked me into this morn before she blew a kiss then left I am sheltered from the playful flick of her long horse tail hair wet & black like the eyeliner that drips down her cold blushed cheeks the downtown bus diesels off in a smelly thick fog of stale beer farts she smiles peels off her soaked leather skirt & pink Betty Boop t-shirt tosses them like a limp carcass over the bedroom door then lays across the unmade bed in a mock Jesus as I slide off her red high-heels & white fishnet stockings to massage her tired toes my fingers slowly drift up her thighs as she kisses my ear & whispers 'I missed you' instead of a reminder that once again I failed to make it out of bed & pick her up from her waitress gig that pays our bills RC Edrington's poetry can be found at http://www.spentmeat.com/edrington.html His poetry site is at: http://spentmeat.com |
