JOHN DORSEY
Untitled mugging poem just maybe i should've told those fuckers i was an outlaw that i never want to ride the kinda horse you have to kick some pale riders even haunt ghosts tonight i imagine tumbleweeds just might be able to shoot holes in dreams or paper moons "thank you" tatum o'neal says in her best little girl voice "to the moon alice, before they see your face jackie gleason told me to tell you to call him daddy show them what you're made of by crushing a poem between your fingers my dear you can be one tough customer if you choose to build sandcastles out of nightmares" just imagine it vow of poverty a good friend of mine likes to say that being a poet is like being in the priesthood poetry with the muse's vow of relative obscurity room and board in hotel nirvana where cobain sings to sell out audiences in heavenly choirs yeah sure ginsberg got to fuck little boys the ultimate poet's politician but other than that i don't really see any similarities between god and mark foley the wedding dance the holy mother pregnant with ghosts says "i wouldn't dance with the devil's dick in my hands" but she will sing like a gravedigger of words "i thought chris kornacki would love this" as they search for him with flashlights a canary sent down these mines is dead poems were found in its lungs cohen's sisters of mercy replace images with doves what is the meaning of all of this? at the wedding of the spirit we only have so much time dancing in rented bowling shoes did you ever think "it really is possible to walk a mile in another man's shoes"? to dance to his song to keep his dreams secret by throwing stones into wishing wells skimming across a underground river of light that only your death and harriet tubman's saw coming where there have been whispers that your ghost has been waiting to dance on your grave since the day you were born John Dorsey currently resides in Toledo, OH.
