Coffee and Cigarettes

This poor woman
could not take
the wait any longer.
Cigarette break
was fifteen
minutes in the future.
The coffee was
not being
served until lunch hour.
She phoned in a
bomb threat, said
the place was going to
blow up. Later
she said a
voice told her to do it.
But four, five, six
calls later
and she was sent out, threatened
with eviction
if she could
not control her impulses.
All she wanted
was a rule
bent or changed, coffee and
cigarettes made
available
at all times of the day.
